Benjamin Mee's (Matt Damon) wife has died six months ago and his family is still struggling with this loss. His daughter, Rosie, is dealing with the death of her mom fairly well, but the son, Dylan (Colin Ford) is having lots of problems. Benjamin decides that he needs to move and his brother, Duncan (Thomas Haden Church) agrees with him. Benjamin goes on a house tour and finds the most perfect house for his family, but with the house comes a zoo. He decides it will be good for his family and moves to the house and will keep the zoo going. The zoo manager, Kelly (Scarlett Johansson), doesn't think that Benjamin can do it. There is a lot of work and a lot of money that goes into the zoo. The zoo does really good for Rosie, but Dylan just is upset with his dad. Dylan does make a new friend at the zoo, Lily (Elle Fanning). To get the zoo up and running, they have to pass inspection with a really mean dude from the USDA.
This movie was really funny and had a lot of family love and drama. I laughed a lot and was touched in my heart. It was cute and a good family movie. This movie also based on a true story of the Mee family who still ownes the zoo. Movie is rate PG for some language and theatrical elements.
