Contagion, This Could Happen

Contagion is a dramatic thriller about what happens in the CDC when a major epidemic occurs and how fear is spread. The movie was interesting as that none of the characters had a major roll, all were shown pretty equal and given equal amounts of development. This movie is more likely than a zombie outbreak and was really good.
The opening scene is Beth Emhoff (Gwyenth Paltrow) at an airport in Chicago coming from Hong Kong, looking a little sick. She gets a phone call from her secret affair and then gets on the plane. She arrives at her home in Minnesota to her son and husband, Mitch Emhoff (Matt Damon). Beth gets worse and then dies along with her son, but Mitch is immune. His daughter from another marriage comes to live with him. The CDC advisor, Dr. EllisCheever (Laurence Fishburne), sends doctors, Dr. Erin Mears (Kate Winslet) and Dr. Leonora Orantes (Marion Cotillard), to Minnesota and Hong Kong to investigate. They learn that the disease is bat and pig and has a very short incubation time. While a blogger, Alan Krumwiede (Jude Law), is creating some panic as he prescribes forsythia as a cure for the virus. The virus starts to spread and mutate and kills 29 million people. You watch as people struggle against the challenges of living with and around the virus. There is mass fear and riots and craziness everywhere.
This movie is pretty true to what happens when a public becomes paranoid and riots. Lots of people die and it makes you think of how viruses spread and how much you come in contact with these things. The movie is really intense and you get really nervous but it ends all happy (I was thinking there would be a twist and everyone would die). Shows what I know. The movie was rated PG-13 for disturbing content (dead and dying people) and some language. I suggest you check this out if you like plage stories.
