In Time, Bringing Sexy Back

In Time, bringing sexy back, well sort of. Full of action and celebrities but a little lacking in the storyline. There was no background which kind of left me trying to figure out why some of the things the characters were doing or talking about. If you are a fan of Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, or Cillian Murphy then this is a movie that would be more towards your interest.
This movie takes place in a world where everyone stops aging at the age of 25, but only have one more to live. To live longer, people have to work because time has become the currency of the world. Will Salas (Timberlake) is 28 years old, living in the ghetto, and working day today to stay alive. One night he saves a rich drunk guy from getting robbed of his time. The drunk guy, Henry Hamilton, has over 100 years on his clock and is tired of living. He gives  all of his time to Will and dies. Will decides to use his new time to get out of the ghetto and go to the uptown New Greenwich to try to take their money. The death of Henry has alerted some unwanted attention by the time keepers headed by Raymond Leon (Murphy). The time keepers are looking for Will because they believe that he killed Henry. Well in New Greenwich, Will uses his new time to meet some new people like Philippe Weis (Vincent Kartheiser) and his daugher, Sylvia (Seyfried). The time keepers manage to find Will and he kidnaps Sylvia to try to stay alive. Will takes Sylvia to the ghetto to try to hide and figure out a plan, but the time keepers are on his tail and some other people looking for his time.
This movie was pretty fast paced to keep your attention and there was a bunch of action. The story was a little disjunct and the dialog kind of lame,  but this is an action movie so who cares. My friend asked me if Justin takes his shirt off and yes he does a couple of times. The concept of the movie is cool and does make a good syfy action movie. My suggestion is to see it when it gets to a cheap movie theater or rent it. :)

Rise of the Guardians (11/21/2012)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1446192/

This looks really funny.
''Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Jack Frost and the Sandman band together to form a united front against the Bogeyman" (imdb.com)
The Easter Bunny is voiced by Hugh Jackman, Jack Frost is Chris Pine, Isla Fisher is Tooth Fairy, and Santa Clause is Alec Baldwin. WTF?! Freaking funny. Can't wait.

The Thing, A Scary Thing

This movie, The Thing, is a prequel to the 1982 The Thing remake of the 1951 The Thing From Another World. Sorry if that confused you. :) This movie was actually pretty good, and the graphics were pretty scary and gross.
The movie starts in 1982 Antarctica with a couple of Norwegians driving searching for the source of a strange signal. They fall through a crack in the ground and find a huge ship in the ice. IN the US, grad student, Kate (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) is enlisted to go to the site and help. She goes to Antarctica with a bunch of Norwegian guys and a couple of Americans, one the Americans is Carter (Joel Edgerton). At the site, they find the alien in the ice and cut it out and take it back to their base. The head doctor guy takes sample of the alien and determines that it is actually an alien. The ice around the alien starts melting and the alien pops out of the ice. So the crew goes looking for the alien and find it, the alien attacks one of the guys and starts to eat it. The American guys light it on fire and kill it. So they study the alien and it looks like the alien is mutating and changing into the people. Kate sees that it can't mutate inorganic material and uses fillings in people's teeth as a sign of who is alien or not. They can't let the alien get away and have to stop it.
This movie was actually really good and the aliens look pretty freaky. There is a lot of gore just for anyone who is squeamish. And Joel Ederton is in it and he is good looking though I wish he would take off his shirt cause after seeing Warrior, he is really cut. Haha. If you have seen the old one, you would like this one too and the end loops into the old one.

Paranormal Activity 3, Scary...No it's Not!

Sorry for those of you who don't get the title. It is related to Kittens Inspired by Kittens on Youtube. Well Paranormal Activity 3 was a giant let down. Not very scary. There was a couple of times I jumped, but nothing like when I saw the first two. Oh and nothing in the trailer happened in the movie.
The movie starts with older Kristi and older Katie and they find these VHS tapes from when they were kids, but they get stole from the house. Then it goes back to the past. In 1988, Julie and her boyfriend Dennis are living together and Dennis is documenting weird things in their house. When something weird happens, Kristi says its her imaginary friend, Toby. Well weirder and weirder things start to happen and the attacks on the girls starts to increase. The whole time, Kristi says its Toby. Then stuff happens at the end....
This movie wasn't as good as the first and second one, but it did give some background to the stories. I will tell you that I don't think the plot of this movie fits so well to the childhood stories in the other ones, but I can't really remember cause I haven't seen the other ones since they came out. Oh well.

Real Steel, Real Awesome

Robot boxing, is that what our future holds? I don't know but it certainly is freaking awesome. Real Steel is an emotional ride and a true underdog story. Hugh Jackman does a solid job and being a jerk then turned good guy. The kid, Dakota Goyo, does a great job and is my favorite person in the movie.
In the year 2027, Charlie Kenton (Jackman) is an out of luck robot boxing manager. His robots suck really bad and he owes everyone money. To make money, he takes his robot to a county fair in Texas to fight a bull, but Charlie loses focus and his robot gets trashed. While trying to get out of the fair without having to pay up on bets, he is stopped by some guys looking for him. They tell him that an old girlfriend of his is dead and has left his son, Max (Goyo) behind. Charlie goes to a court house where Max's aunt and rich uncle are trying to get custody of him. Charlie makes a secret deal with the uncle, for 50 thousand dollars, Charlie will sign over Max and keep him for the 2 months the aunt and uncle are in Italy.
Charlie uses money to buy a new robot. Charlie intends to leave Max with his friend, Bailey (Evangeline Lilly), but Max gets Charlie to take him along. Charlie gets his new robot into a big fight, but loses again and his robot is scraped. Charlie takes Max to a junk yard to look for scraps to make a new robot where they come across a robot. Charlie thinks it's junk and tells Max that if he wants it he has to haul it out himself. Max gets to robot out and cleans him up. The robot turns out to be an old sparing robot named Atom and he has a shadow function that allows him to copy and remember movements. So Max gets Charlie to train Atom and get him in fights, where Atom starts winning.
This movie was really awesome and cool. There is a lot of action, comedy, and emotional bonding. Max was my favorite character in the movie. Before a fight, Max and Atom would dance in the ring and that part is super cool. You really fall in love with the characters and watch as they progress to love each other. :) Check it out. Rated PG-13 for action and some language.

What's Your Number?, Lots of Butts

After seeing What's Your Number? this weekend, I must warn you, this movie has a lot of butts in it. But (haha) the movie is really funny and really cheesy. Anna Faris is in her normal role of the slutty blonde and Chris Evans does a good job in a romantic comedy (and is really hot). I laughed a bunch and was wooed with its woman-wooing-chick-flick ways. The movie is rated R for swearing, crude jokes, and partial nudity (as mentioned above).
The movie starts out with  Ally Darling (Faris) waking up next to her current boyfriend. She does the whole get ready before he wakes up so he doesn't know I'm not good looking in the morning thing. Well she ends up dumping him that morning. She then goes to work where she gets fired. Feeling depressed, she picks up a magazine and reads an article about how the national average of lovers a woman has is 10. This makes her upset and determined to count up the number of men she has slept with. Her final count is 19. This depresses her more and at her sister's rehearsal dinner gets really drunk and makes a really funny toast.
So that night she tells her sister and friends about her number. They look over the article again and it also says that when a woman has over 20 lovers, she can't find a husband. So Ally vows to not sleep with anyone else and again gets really drunk. She then wakes up the next morning with someone else in her bed. While trying to find a way to get rid of number 20, her neighbor Colin (Evans) comes over to use her apartment to hid from the girl he slept with that night. Colin helps Ally get number 20 guy out of her apartment. Well Ally has broken her rule and then comes up with an idea. The idea is to track down all her past lovers to see if one of them could be her likely husband so she doesn't go over the number 20. To do this she enlists Colin because he knows how to find people in exchange for helping him hid from all his one night stands. They begin tracking down these men while Ally and Colin start to become friends.
This movie is corny like any other romantic comedy and has a very predictable ending like any other. But is you want to see Chris Evans practically naked, you should see this. It was funny and made me smile. Check it out. :)

Contraband (1/13/2012)

http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi3802766873/

Our favorite Marky Mark in his typical kick butt roll. This movie, Contraband, looks pretty cool.
A reformed criminal returns to his old ways when his brother-in-law gets into trouble. His objective: smuggle $15 million into the US to pay his relative's debt.
