Captain America: The First Avenger, A Good Step to Avengers

Captain America: The First Avenger was really actually good. There was a bunch of action and awesomeness and hot guys (Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan). This movie really starts to tie the whole Avengers together, which is really cool because it is the final movie until The Avengers.

The movie starts out in the present day in the Artic. People have found a huge ship and don't know where it came from. Some of them go inside and when inside they uncover something in the ice and when you see it, it is the shield that belongs to Cpt. America. The movie then goes to 1945 in Norway. People are trying to protect something, but the bad guy, Johann Schmidt/Red Skull (Hugo Weaving) takes it. The object is a power cube from the god, Odin (Thor's father). The movie then moves to a recruiting office where you meet Steve Rogers (Evans) he gets rejected from serving in the army. He keeps trying and can't ever get in because he is too small. His friend, Bucky (Stan) has made it in and tells Rogers that he is leaving the next day and that Steve shouldn't serve. Well someone overhears this exchange and he is Dr. Abraham Erskine (Stanley Tucci). The doctor then lets Steve get into the army and chooses him for a special mission. The mission is to create a super solider with some serum the doctor created and some help from Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), Tony Stark's dad. The experiment works and Steve is taller, stronger, and more fit. Unfortunately, Schmidt wants the serum and sends an agent to take it. The agent doesn't get the serum but the doctor is killed in the attempt.
That is all I'm going to tell you cause I want you to go and see the movie for yourself and not spoil any of it for you. This movie was really good and I liked it. There was a lot more fighting in this one and it was pretty exciting. Oh and there is an extra clip at the end of the credits and it is pretty much a trailer for the Avengers movie!!! It was super awesome and I'm really excited. Avengers comes out May 4.

  1. If I could vote in your poll I would put in a vote for Chris Evans! He is sooo good looking!

I really liked this movie for a number of reasons:

1-Steve Rogers (Evans) retains his deep sense of humility throughout the whole movie. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer the humble guys. Don't get me wrong. I freakin' love Tony Stark though he's conceited up his butt.

2-Steve's female interest doesn't freaking bug me to the point where I want to rip her head off. Most, if not all, other girlfriends and female interests drive me insane! They're either too demanding, too helpless, too sexual...and the list goes on and on and on. I hate Natalie Portman as an actress so that ruined Thor's girlfriend for me. Pepper Potts from Iron Man is actually fairly tolerable, as she brings out Tony's sensible side, but she got a little annoying in Iron Man 2. Don't even get me started on Mary Jane from the Toby Mcguire spiderman movies. I hated her! But the girl in this movie, Captain America, can handle herself, isn't demanding really, and doesn't push things. I like how they take it slow. But I didn't really like how he never even gets to date her. The romantic side of me was a little let down. :(

3-Like you said, it is an awesome tie into the Avengers! I like how they incorporated things like Odin's power cube and Tony Stark's dad. I think they did a good job casting Tony's dad and it's interesting to see a little of the dad we're always hearing about in Iron Man.

The only thing that sorta bugged me but not really was Chris Evan's body size and height compared to everyone else. It wasn't that he was too buff or too tall, it's just that, it seemed they couldn't keep his size consistent. Maybe I was just imagining things but after he's genetically altered, there are certain scenes where it seems his shoulders weren't as broad as they should of been or he wasn't as tall as he was when he first came out of the 'altering pod' or whatever you want to call it... Idk... maybe I was just imagining things, or maybe it was the certain angles. I did think it was pretty cool how they were able to make such a drastic transformation in his body size though.
