Battle: Los Angeles

Battle: LA is a good movie. I was full of aliens and explosions and gun fights and awesomeness! In the movie, asteroids start falling to Earth along the coasts of major cities around the world, the thing is though that the asteroids are really aliens coming to take our planets water. The marines have been deployed in Los Angeles to go and fight the aliens while they gather civilians behind enemy lines. Staff Sargent Nantz (Aaron Eckhart) is put in a platoon under the command of 2nd Lieutenant William Martinez, who is a new kid. The team goes into the city to get to a police station to pick up civilians before the Air Force drops bombs over the city wipe it out. They encounter ground forces of the aliens and have a hard time against them. At the police station, they get 5 people and 3 of them are children. They then have to get out of the city and back to Santa Monica airport before the bombs.
This movie is not really your basic alien invasion movies. This movie is from the view of the soldiers who have to fight and some lame action person who has to figure out who to kill the aliens while the soldiers fight and die around them. There was also a lot of action and blowing things up and shooting aliens. Sad to say that most of the soldiers die and don't make it home, but Michelle Rodriguez doesn't die and I was surprised because she dies in everything. There are some sad parts, corny parts, and overly dramatic parts, but overall it was really good. This movie kicks butt and is only rated PG-13, so check it out!!
